Award-winning artist Kunlé is a Nigerian-born, Toronto-based singer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist whose work draws from Yoruba storytelling, folk traditions and contemporary global music. His music features a powerful interplay between vocals, talking drums, and contemporary fingerstyle guitar—brought to life through dynamic performances.
Moving seamlessly between Yoruba, Pidgin, and English, his songs balance cultural depth with a soulful, contemporary sensibility that connects with all audiences. His live performances have captivated audiences for over ten years with a sound he describes as “music with no boundaries.”
Supported by a top-notch five-piece ensemble, Kunlé’s Town Hall concert will feature songs from his June 2026 release The Journey - a masterful sophomore album that seamlessly fuses West African folk storytelling with soul, roots, and contemporary guitar work.
Accomplished in music and theatre, Kunlé’s stage credits include a 2024 Dora Mavor Moore Award for outstanding production, a nomination for outstanding sound design and composition for Soulpepper Theatre’s ‘Three Sisters,’ and a 2022 Premier's Awards nomination for music director, composer and performer in Stratford Festival’s ‘Death and the King’s Horseman.’
