Five-time Juno Award winner, Jane Bunnett has turned her bands and recordings into showcases for the finest musical talent from Canada, the US, and Cuba. She has been nominated for three Grammy Awards, received The Order of Canada, The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal and The Ontario Premier’s Award for Excellence.

Highly regarded on the Canadian jazz and world music scene as a leader, soprano saxophonist and flutist, Jane Bunnett began digging deep into the music of Cuba during a trip there in 1982; falling in love with the intricate folkloric Afro-Cuban rhythms and blending them with contemporary jazz sounds. Her groundbreaking work in this musical journey is highlighted through the legendary Spirits of Havana project and her current all-female powerhouse band Maqueque.

Bunnett is celebrated globally for her fearless artistry and soulful sound. Her Town Hall performance will bring an unforgettable night of Afro-Cuban jazz exploring the passionate melodies and irresistible rhythms of Cuban music with the support of Cuban pianist Dánae Olano (Maqueque) and percussionist Reimundo Sosa.
